There has been a longstanding tradition of academic excellence at ASCS and that tradition continues with our recent results on the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS). The ITBS can help identify areas of relative strength in student academic growth and achievement. Student performance is related to the curriculum, the strength of the instructional program, teacher effectiveness, and positive parental support. Based on 2010 results, our students scored among the top in the nation. Our students scored an average of 1.7 grade levels above the National Average.
In 2011-2012, the Diocese of Orlando adopted Form E of the newly re-named Iowa Assessments. In the Spring 2013 administration of the Form E, our students scored an average of 1.9 grade level equivalencies above the National Average.Even with the re-structured and re-normed assessment, our students continued to excel. Our highest achievers were our 8th graders -- which reinforces our belief that academic achievement increases the longer a student is at All Souls.
